Winter

Whale watching season! From mid-February through March, the Gray Whales swim closer to shore heading back from Hawaii on up to Alaska with their newly-born young. Dress warm.

Spring

As cold winters rift away, Spring welcomes daily temps in the high 50s to high 60's, making for great weather to take a hike, a walk on the beach or window shopping in many of the coastal towns the dot the Mendocino coast.

Summer
Summer

Summer is high season as it provides temps in the high 60s to the high 70s, allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors in shorts and a t-shirt. Get out and enjoy a day at the beach, a hike in the redwoods or bike ride.

As the coastal fog comes in, the temps drop. Expect an average day to be mostly cloudy with temps in the high 40s to low 60s at times.

Traveling to Mendocino County

  • The closest public airport will be Santa Rosa Airport which is located at the north end of Santa Rosa with service from Alaska and American. It's about a 90-minute drive to get to Booneville once you land.
  • Uber and Lyft is available, but expect long wait times.
  • There are some regional bus services, but only once you are in Mendocino County.
