Locally owned winery booking platform launches “Pass the Buck” program to support Pets Lifeline’s animal rescue and relief efforts in response to Sonoma County’s Kincade Fire

San Francisco, CA

CellarPass, the leading wine industry booking platform, has launched a donation activation program built on their Pass the Buck campaign to support Pets Lifeline animal relief efforts during the ongoing Kincade wildfire in Sonoma County. For the remainder of the year, CellarPass will donate $1 for each reservation booked on the CellarPass website www.cellarpass.com to Pets Lifeline.

“CellarPass is a locally owned business and our hearts were broken when we saw how large of a scale the Kincade wildfire had become in just a few days,” stated CellarPass co-founder Sarah Elliman. “As the winds picked up to over 90 mph, the fire quickly grew and over 300,000 people were ordered to be evacuated, which shocked is all. When we read the news that many families were being turned away because the local community shelters were no longer accepting pets, we wanted to ensure people knew about local shelters that are here to help.”

“We’ve worked with Pets Lifeline’s staff on several events where we have raised awareness and much-needed funds to help offset their costs of providing shelter and medical needs of pets during these peak times of crisis. Their community volunteers have been working tirelessly to provide evacuation aid and find temporary foster placements for animals displaced by the Kincade wildfire”, Elliman added. “Pets Lifeline is a wonderful group of individuals with unbelievable compassion and dedication who make sure pets are not forgotten. We’re proud to be able to work with this organization on our Pass the Buck program.”

CellarPass will donate a $1 per reservation for all guests who book their winery visits between now and the end of the year, with proceeds donated to Pets Lifeline. In addition, matching donations by CellarPass partners are encouraged, and to accelerate the donation program, CellarPass has also committed to donating $10 for every CellarPass 2019 Passport to Sonoma Wine Country, now and through the end of the year.

“Whether you book a reservation or buy a Passport to Sonoma on CellarPass, we are happy to support this important cause,” said CellarPass co-founder Jonathan Elliman. “It’s a testament of how small businesses recognize the importance of community, and how the hospitality industry can get involved to show support for organizations like Pets Lifeline that do such great work during natural disasters like the Kincade wildfire.”

"Pets Lifeline is so honored to once again be the beneficiary of this generous fundraising endeavor,” said Nancy King, CEO Pets Lifeline. “What an amazing organization CellarPass is to recognize small community non-profits in the work we do every day. Thank you CellarPass!"  Anyone can participate in this fundraising effort. CellarPass has created an online form to accept donations in any amount for those wishing to make direct contributions to Pets Lifeline. To donate online, visit: https://www.cellarpass.com
